The stump-tailed Wooden Monkey is a rare miniature monkey measuring only 6-8cm long. It has an unique blue face and green toes, with green dendritic protuberances at the top of its face. This species mainly lives in forests and shrubs in subtropical Mediterranean climate. The stump-tailed Wooden Monkey is a nocturnal and arboreal animal that spends most of its time in the trees. It is an insect-eating animal that hunts its prey like the praying mantis.

The stump-tailed  Wooden Monkey are gregarious primates that mainly inhabit in the trunk of a tree called “Hollow Tree”, normally one tree for one group with a female leader. They do most of their social activities in the tree trunk. Each group of wooden Monkeys can be identified by a special smell secreted from their heads.
